Architectural Identity

Classic Elegance. Timeless Luxury.

Mediterranean Palace Hotel is a distinguished example of neoclassical architecture and refined interior design. The building, completed in 1995, was designed by architect Mr. Theologos Georgiadis, paying tribute to the aesthetic of Thessaloniki in the early 20th century. Its form exudes a timeless character, inspired by the elegance of European grand hotels of the 1930s.

The architecture masterfully combines classical lines with imposing morphological features: symmetrical facades, intricate plasterwork, high ceilings, and marble floors—all contributing to an atmosphere of luxury and understated sophistication.

The building’s exterior is defined by harmonious symmetry and architectural details that evoke a bygone era of urban elegance. Classic wrought-iron balconies with ornate patterns span both visible facades of the corner structure, reinforcing its neoclassical identity and lending a distinctly European flair.

The main entrance stands out with a graceful canopy, welcoming guests with a subtle sense of theatricality and warm luxury. On the underside, small spotlight fixtures resembling starlight add a touch of enchantment, setting the tone for the refined experience that awaits within.

Inside, the lobby and public areas impress with their attention to detail: marble flooring, wood paneling, decorative plaster ceilings, and crystal chandeliers create a setting of exceptional aesthetic quality and charm. A prominent feature is the impressive spiral marble staircase, with its ornately wrought-iron balustrade, standing like a sculptural centerpiece and enhancing the space’s theatrical presence and timeless elegance.

The guest rooms and suites follow the same design language, with classic-style furnishings, premium fabrics, and an abundance of natural light, enhancing the serene luxury of each space. Every element has been carefully curated not only for comfort but to deliver a stay experience with soul and a sense of history.

The hotel's shared spaces – the restaurant, the bar, and the conference venues – continue the neoclassical narrative with consistency, crafting an atmosphere that balances elegance and functionality. High ceilings, marble surfaces, wooden accents, and soft lighting evoke the ambiance of an elegant European salon. Even the meeting rooms, designed with attention to acoustic and visual detail, avoid the sterile feel of conventional business halls, offering a warm, refined setting for high-level events—always framed by an architecture that communicates stability, grace, and prestige.

At Mediterranean Palace, architecture is not merely functional—it’s an experience. This is a building with a soul, a living narrative where past and present coexist in perfect harmony, offering a destination of elevated aesthetics in the heart of Thessaloniki. A modern structure with timeless character, proudly standing at the crossroads of the city’s history, culture, and style.
